Accenture Cops Intermediate Division Title with Win Over UnitedHealth Group
MANILA, Philippines – Accenture made sure to dominate UnitedHealth Group from quarter to quarter to walk out of Enderun Colleges in Taguig City on Saturday, July 17 with the top prize of the 2016 BPO Classics season’s intermediate division.
In a battle of the two top teams of the regular season, Accenture’s heralded squad effortlessly cruised to the Promised Land and captured the intermediate division title with a 76-65 victory over UnitedHealth Group.
Larry Paa’s star shined the brightest in the Accenture’s championship conquest as he drilled 25 points and then collected 4 rebounds, one assist and 3 steals.
Christian Rodriguez added more firepower on the court by unloading 14 markers and picking up 6 boards, 3 dimes and two blocks to secure the title-winning feat for Accenture.
Despite suffering a painful setback in the Finals at the hands of Accenture, 3 starters of United Health Group were in double scoring figures.
Resident muscle Terry Ajayi gave UnitedHealth Group a fighting chance by amassing 13 markers, 22 boards, and a game-high 5 shot block, while reliable playmaker Roberto Valdes Jr. flirted with a double-double output of 20 points and 9 rebounds to go along with one assist and one steal.
On the other hand, shooting guard Rey David Santos stepped up by contributing 11 points.
However, their collective efforts were not enough to claim the intermediate division title as Accenture’s frontline unit was always one step ahead of them as the team controlled the shaded area and easily attacked the basket.
In addition, Accenture was able to convert 14 from United Health Group’s 27 turnovers.
