In Enderun College in Taguig last October 29, Next5Hoops Metro Manila featured a pair of high action ball games.
First, it was Wolfpack overpowering Ballers United, 97-75, in a lopsided affair. Wolfpack got to a raring start and never took their foot off the gas pedal.
Eugene Turtor led the way with 18 points and five rebounds while Eugene Galarin contributed 16 and seven. Wolfpack shot the ball efficiently, reaching 53 percent from the field. Defensively, they forced 19 turnovers for Ballers United, which gave them and additional 25 points.
Ruvic Delos Santos was the lone bright spot for Ballers United. He had an astonishing double-double performance of 29 points and 21 rebounds in the losing effort.
Meanwhile, KPATS South and Badgers needed an extra five minutes to settle their game. In the end, the Badgers were able to pull of the 85-80 win. It was an epic back-and-forth action between the two proud teams.
Joshua San Pedro knocked down the tying triple with two seconds left on the clock, forcing a 71-71 deadlock. In the payoff period, the Badgers were just able to execute better. A clutch basket by Carlo Eusebio with 18 seconds left on the clock sealed their win. Eusebio finished with 27 points and 16 assists.
