Sitel, ARMCO, SBO Find Mark in Recreational Plus
Three teams registered convincing wins as action continued in the Recreational Plus Division of the 2016 BPO Classics last November 5 and 6.
Sitel caught fire from downtown to torch Yondu, 81-66, in a wire-to-wire finish.
Sitel made up for its disadvantage off the glass and connected on 11 triples—six of which from Tamdoc, who topscored for Sitel with 20.
But it wasn’t only from the outside that Sitel found the mark. It turned Yondu’s whopping 30 turnovers into 25 points while getting 18 second chance points.
12 others contributed in scoring for Sitel with Alulod adding 11 points.
Agustin led Yondu, which wasted its height advantage, with 22 points while Santos corralled 19 boards.
In the other game, ARMCO missed all its 3-point attempts but neutralized it by quick hands and inside play for a 57-43 win over Crawford & Co.
ARMCO went 0-of-16 from downtown but still managed to break away midway in the fourth, thanks to 24 points off 27 errors from Crawford.
From just a four-point lead with 8 minutes left, ARMCO used an 19-5 run to put the game beyond reach, 55-37, seven minutes later.
Jacob shone with an all-around game for ARMCO with 21 points and eight rebounds and two steals.
Gomez and Marana had 10 markers each for Crawford, which was also dismal from beyond the arc with just one of 16 attempts.
Meanwhile, Shell Business Operations took control in the second quarter and never looked back for the 71-61 win over KMC Solutions.
Down 8, a blazing 25-4 turnaround in the second frame gave SBO the lead for good and it ballooned 18 points in the ensuing period.
Even with just 10 players, SBO drew quality performances with Sison and De Guzman taking care of the offense with 33 combined. De Guzman also added 12 boards.
KMC Solutions managed to bring the lead down to 3, 57-54, with still over four minutes to play but that was the closest it would get.
Sanguyo carried KMC Solutions on his back with 17 points, six rebounds, and four assists while Gamit and Abad added 13 and 10 points, in that order.
