MANILA, Philippines – The playoff picture of Next5Hoops’ Corporate Division continues to take shape as PLDT moved up a spot in the team standings with a 75-74 drubbing of DN Steel on Sunday, December 4 at Asia Pacific College in Makati City.
The undermanned PLDT squad narrowly escaped with the victory against DN Steel, but Charles Duco served as the hero for the brigade as he hauled 20 points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Duco received a helping hand from EJ De Guzman on the offensive end as he bombarded the opposing team with 16 markers.
Although DN Steel suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of PLDT, the squad was led by Jasper Tanglao and Justin Angel, who produced 14 and 12 points respectively.
In the other fixture, Accenture came out on top of SCMC United with a 73-65 victory. Luke Monton played a pivotal role in the win by scoring 19 markers.
Meanwhile, HPE secured a 123-59 blowout against BPI as Gelo Rebel’s star shined the brightest with 26 points.
