Springmaid – Rogue and Tattoo Community defeated their respective opponents in contrasting fashion as the Next5Hoop Women’s Division kicked off last May 18, 2014 at the Cloverleaf Place Gym in Guadalupe, Makati.
Trailing at the half, the Springmaid Toothbrush-backed Rogue squad broke away in the third period and then held off Swoosh in the final frame. Ken de Guzman gave her team a six-point cushion, 35-29, midway of the final period.
Ara Rivera led Rogue with nine points and seven rebounds. Agustin and Guzman had six markers apiece for the victors.
Cheryl Pearl Desigano of Swoosh was the only player who reached double figures with ten.
Meanwhile, Tattoo made short work of Expert Global Solutions, 67-18.
Nilda Lampitoc led the onslaught with 12 points, nine boards, four assists, and six steals. Mel Mandap had 11 on 3/4 shooting from beyond the arc, while Jaemee Hernandez finished with ten.
Games on May 25 will pit UP Bolera against Rogue at 7pm and EGS opposite Kazaam at 8:30pm.
