Dominance Continues in Next5Hoops

It was a show of firepower last November 25 as the third conference action in the Next5Hoops Corporate-Recreational Division continued at Phenom Sports Center in Makati.

SCMC United, SYKES Asia Pioneers, SYKES Asia Innovators and Artesyn overwhelmed the competition to keep their winning run in the tournament.

In the night cap, SCMC United crushed Shell Oilers, 78-51.

SCMC United drew significant contributions from all of its players with all but one in the line-up scoring at least two points.

Marvin Alcala paced SCMC United with 14 points and seven rebounds while Johan Montes and Prince de Asis added 12 and 11, respectively.

SCMC had the lead from the get go but a 21-8 third quarter barrage allowed it to pull away for good.

SYKES Asia Pioneers, meanwhile, ran away with an 80-50 victory over Safeway.

After building a big enough lead at the half, 47-24, SYKES Asia Pioneers was hardly ever threatened for the rest of the match.

Jed Anson flirted with a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench for SYKES Asia Pioneers, while Christian Dayao added 12 points, all from 3.

Artesyn was also a picture of domination in blowing out Bayer, 89-61.

Roberto Carlos knocked down four triples to finish with a game-best 23 points along with eight rebounds and six assists to lead Artesyn.

Five more others scored not lower than 10 points for Artesyn.

Artesyn was simply superior in all departments, especially in assists where it had a whopping 32-17 advantage.

Earlier, SYKES Innovators used a strong second half to defeat Center Functions.

SYKES Innovators used a a 41-26 finishing kick to turn a two-point halftime deficit into a double-digit victory.

Michael Mostrales continued to carry SYKES Innovators in his back, this time dropping 36 points and 12 rebounds.

Justin Molina provided solid back up for Mostrales with 17 points and seven boards.
